Week 32: 5 weeks till term!

Did ya'll think I dropped off the face of the earth? Sorry- I wanted to write last week but it was crazy busy. Jay & I ended the week by going camping (at Woolly Hallow- great weather!) so I wasn't home for most of it and then there's the matter of the lost hour of sleep...

I also partially didn't write last week because I intended to get Hudson's daddy to take a picture of me- especially for you Cristi :)- so that ya'll could see my baby bump... but that hasn't materialized yet. Yesterday we were going to get the picture taken and again we forgot. Why it is that I remember when we are away from the camera I am not sure. I'll try to get it done tonight and post it tomorrow. Jay will be out of town for work till Thursday after that.

In explanation for anyone that is reading this and wondering about my title- "Week 32: 5 weeks till term"- At 37 weeks a fetus is considered term (mature, ready, that sort of thing). My understanding is that it is ok and probably better for him to stay till week 40, especially in the case of a white baby boy (from what I remember from nursing school)- however things are usually pretty safe if you deliver after the 37th week. I will be ready for him to come anytime by the time that gets here- which will be about mid-April. Even though I am not "really big" and have had a great pregnancy overall- I still feel fat and I am ready to get more active and meet my little man.

The thing I have really noticed is that I have not adjusted to my protruding abdomen very well- what I mean is that I forget or don't realize how much I am sticking out and have bumped into things a couple times, following that with "Sorry Hudson". Some of it may be clumsiness too- but it is just funny. I really notice it when Jay & I are both trying to get around the kitchen at the same time. Jay stands kinda far from the counter and I used to get around him no problem by "sucking in"- but I can't do that right now so it is more of a "squeezing by" which is usually followed by a "Goodness!" from Jay. He is cute. We are trying to spend more time in the kitchen with our new crockpot. We've fixed roast beef with veggies and cornish hens with potatoes in it so far.

Hudson's newest thing is pushing against anything that is pushing on him. I was reading in bed last week and the book was just lightly on my tummy and Hudson didn't like it at all- he kept pushing or kicking at it and the book was jumping. It was enough of a disturbance I had to readjust the book because I couldn't read it with it jumping like that. He also doesn't like it if I snug up to my desk because then my tummy is touching the desk- he pushes incessantly against it till I move. Sometimes I do it just to make him move- does that make me a mean momma?

We are currently on a two-week, or bi-monthly visit to Dr. Fuller. That will change at week 36 and we will go to weekly then. This coming weekend we have our childbirthing classes. We will be taking those at the hospital along with our pregnant friends- Dennis & Rachel. We are all looking forward to them even though they will take up the better part of the weekend. They will be on Saturday from 9am-1pm and then on Sunday from 1pm-5pm.

Oh- I will also try to get some pictures posted of our shower at Kelly's house from February. Hope everyone has a great week!
