Last week in the 1st Trimester!

Well, you may have heard of "Babycenter.com" but if you haven't, it is a great website that gives you week by week development of the baby. I subscribed to it pretty early on and love checking it out every week to see what Baby G is doing. I'm attaching- or copying and pasting- what Babycenter.com had to say about our little one's development this week...

"Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably."

Isn't that cool? I highly recommend that anyone that is a visual person to go to their website and checkout the pictures they have. One of the coolest features I have enjoyed is how they compare the size of the baby, week by week, to objects that I can visualize. I have the say that the blueberry was the cutest one to date- Jay & I spent that whole week referring to "our little blueberry". This week as noted above, Baby G is the size of a medium shrimp! I think next week's object comparison will be a lemon- Baby G sure is growing fast!

I still don't have to wear maternity clothes, cause I am not really showing yet. I have however opted to wear maternity pants once or twice in the last couple weeks- mainly because I just didn't want to be "as squished" in the stomach region. My regular jeans fit fine while I am standing, but when I sit for a while- let's just say they are not so comfortable!

A while back (maybe 3 weeks) my friend Rachel & I- Ok- PAUSE FOR UPDATE-for those of you who know Rachel, I know you love her too- but for those who don't know her she is a friend of mine from church who found out she was pregnant about 3 weeks before we did. She is 5 weeks ahead of me and today is a special day for her and her husband Dennis- (yeah guys!!)- because they get to find out gender of their little one! Ok- back to what I was saying- Rachel & I went to JC Penney's a few weeks ago and bought a bunch of the same maternity shirts for cheap- like $6.50 a piece! I've worn almost all of them by now because they work for pregnant or not. Their best feature is that they are LONG; so even if I wear my regular jeans or whatever they cover the waistline...very, very nice!

At a risk of making this a little too wordy I want to send a shout out way north to my baby brother Paul and my sister-in-law Chennelle, who are going to make me an auntie for the first time any day now... I can't wait to meet the little one (they did not find out gender). I wish you only good things in the next little bit and send my love and prayers to you both, I mean all three!

My next post will probably be next Tuesday after our next Dr.'s appt. Ya'll don't hold your breath- it will still be too early to find out gender (which I don't want to do anyway)- and there will not be an ultrasound this time either. Next ultrasound will be in December. Ya'll have a great week and stay tuned for the next update in precious baby G's life!

Hey again. I am sure liking these updates...I would much rather be there with you but I guess we both know that's not possible. This is the next best thing and I like being kept in the loop. I am happy that things are moving along nicely and that you are so excited and happy.
